In August, demand dropped below its corresponding month in 2023 for the first time this year, followed by year-over-year declines in September and October. The most recent figures show gasoline demand in October was below 2023 levels but was still higher than October 2022, according to the China National Bureau of Statistics, China General Administration of Customs, and Bloomberg L.P. as quoted by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
