March 3, 2025--Written by Daniel Graeber for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Plaquemines facility for exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Louisiana is operating close to its peak capacity, a few short months after its inaugural injection of gas marked the start of commercial operations.
IIR Energy confirmed the facility began drawing in more than 100 million cubic feet of natural gas per day for liquefaction operations in mid-December. Operated by Venture Global LNG (NYSE:VG) (Arlington, Virginia), the Plaquemines facility is fed primarily by the Gator Express Pipeline, a network tied to larger arteries carrying natural gas from regional shale deposits such as the Haynesville Shale.
