Belgium Adds Gas-Fired Projects to Energy Mix

NEW DELHI--August 18, 2021--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Belgium is moving ahead with plans to phase out nuclear power in the country by 2025, although more than 50% of its electricity currently comes from nuclear power plants. In order to bridge the gap, Belgium is investing significantly in wind-power generation. However, since renewable energy sources are intermittent in nature, the country needs to have flexible backup energy sources, and they are banking on natural gas as the best solution available.
