China's Wanhua Chemical to Expand MDI Capacity

BEIJING--January 5, 2023--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Wanhua Chemical is one of the major producers of methylene diphenyl isocyanate (MDI) in the world, with a current production capacity of 2.65 million tons accounting for about one-third of the global market share. MDI is an aromatic diisocyanate, and its major application is the production of polyurethane. Wanhua Chemical is still expanding and upgrading its sites in Fujian and Ningbo, and after MDI projects at the two sites are put into operation, the company's total MDI production capacity will reach 3.65 million tons per year.
