Peru has extended its state of emergency to April 26. Already, a large number of copper mines in the country are temporarily shuttered or operating at reduced capacity. Chinese-owned Minera Las Bambas, which operates the Las Bambas copper mine, is operating at reduced rates during the lockdown. In the U.S., Freeport-McMoRan suspended operations at its Chino Mine in New Mexico.
