June 5, 2024--Written by Daniel Graeber for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--A key component of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) development off the coast of Mauritania and Senegal, the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, is now moored about 25 miles from shore, BP plc (NYSE:BP) (London, England) said Tuesday.
The FPSO vessel will support Phase I operations at the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) development on the maritime border of the two African nations. BP envisions it will produce about 2.3 million metric tons per year of LNG for the next 20 years.
