July 1, 2024--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Hurricane Beryl is tearing its way through the Caribbean and made landfall on Grenada's Carriacou Island on Monday morning as a Category 4 storm. The National Hurricane Center warns Beryl is expected to bring "life-threatening winds and storm surge" to islands in the area, with Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula likely to be affected in the coming days.
Industrial Info is tracking more than US$27.4 billion worth of active projects in the Mexican states that are most likely to be affected by Beryl, and more than US$1.3 billion worth in the Caribbean countries in or near the hurricane's path: Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Grenada, Jamaica and Martinique. Beryl is the second named storm to threaten the Gulf of Mexico in this early stage of the 2024 hurricane season. Current projections say the hurricane could cut through the Yucatan Peninsula before hitting the Bay of Campeche, which is just north of the state of Tabasco.
