A day after the World Health Organization (WHO) suspended trials to evaluate the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for COVID-19 treatment, India said it will continue to use the medicine for prevention of the disease. ICMR released an advisory recommending usage of HCQ as a preventive medication for frontline workers against the novel coronavirus. ICMR, however, cautioned that the intake of the medicine should not instill a sense of false security.
