Indonesia Halts New Diesel-Fired Power Plant Development, an Industrial Info Market Brief

The government of Indonesia has reiterated plans to reduce the capacity of fossil-fuel power plants. A program is being prepared to convert diesel-fueled power plants to gas-fired power, and the government will no longer allow the construction of new power plants that use fuel oil. The conversion from diesel to gas will lower the cost of production for electricity, and the price of electricity to the public will be made more competitive.
