December 12, 2023--Written by Amir Richani for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--First Quantum Minerals' (Vancouver, British Columbia) Cobre Panama mine has been shut down after Panama's Supreme Court declared the the mining contract unconstitutional last month. Over the weekend, First Quantum's subsidiary, Minera Panama, said that blockades continue to prevent road and port access to the mine, impeding the transportation of essential materials required for environmental operations.
