BP expects to initiate a phased restart within the next 24 hours at its 410,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Whiting, Indiana, after 95% of the facility was shut down on August 24 due to an electrical fire that caused a loss of cooling water and steam. At this time, the restart of the 110,000-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracker Unit (FCCU) 500 will begin over the next 24 hours, followed by the 65,000-BBL/d FCCU 600.
