NEW DELHI--January 24, 2024--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Norwegian energy giant Scatec (Oslo) has commissioned three solar-power projects in South Africa with a combined capacity of 540 megawatts (MW) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) capable of injecting up to 225 MW of power into Eskom's (Sunninghill) power grid. With an investment of US$1 billion, the Kenhardt project, which covers 879 hectares in South Africa's Northern Cape Province, strengthens the nation's effort to exceed 8 gigawatts of solar power by 2030.
