Opponents Prevent Petroperu from Fixing Pipeline After Attack

March 27, 2025--Written by Amir Richani for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--State-owned energy company Petroperu (Lima, Peru) is facing opposition from local communities as it tries to fix its Oleoducto Norperuano Pipeline (ONP), which was cut March 19 in the district of Manseriche, in the state of Loreto.

Petroperu sealed the cut to stop leaks, returning the ONP to operations. However, the company removed the seal March 24 at kilometre 315, on the pipeline's Stretch 2, to investigate. Petroperu then confirmed the cut had been sabotage.
